A dangerous teenage trend, that has been around for several years is called pharming (but is pronounced farming). Pharming is a shortened form of the word pharmaceutical. The dictionary defines a pharmaceutical as a prescription drug prescribed for a certain medicinal purpose. Pharming, however, is the behavior of acquiring prescription medication and pooling the prescription medication together to be ingested later.
What is a Pharm Party?
A pharm party is any place that pharming takes place. In order to gain entrance into the pharming festivities, one is required to provide a variety of prescription medications or pills. As people arrive for the pharm party, the prescription medication is deposited into a large bowl and mixed together. Later the medication is ingested by the handfuls.
Yet, what exactly is in the mixture of pills? Good question, since the medication brought to the party could be anything found in any home. Pills are taken from medicine cabinets, purses, bedrooms, bedside tables, and even bathroom or hall closets.
